KLA worked to complete Ford Field’s 2017 off-season renovation project. KLA completed neutral host DAS design and installation to boost cell service so patrons can use their wireless products without interference or dead spots. 500 new access points were installed to cover the bowl areas; as well as a refresh to 500 additional access points to increase capacity to 100 users per point. The overall coverage areas for the project included back of house, bowl areas, offices, suites, and concourses.
In addition to this, KLA installed a new arena sound system in partnership with Parsons. KLA also installed new cabling to support Point of Sale devices, TV’s, monitors, security cameras, and existing network upgrades. New coaxial, triaxial, and fiber optic cabling was installed to meet and enhance broadcast system requirements for Fox Sports and ESPN.
Little Caesars Arena
KLA recently completed several installations at the new Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit, home of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons. KLA installed sound systems for both The Market and Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit Bar. The systems are complete with JBL and Fulcrum speakers, Crown Amplifiers, Denon, and Shure components. KLA also completed a neutral host DAS design and installation using a Corning ONE solution. In addition to these services, KLA staged, configured, and deployed the following:

A Local Municipality
As KLA looks to move into the Smart City market, they recently completed work in a local community as part of a “Cool City” initiative. KLA installed dual speaker and wireless receivers at 22 locations across the city to provide background music and event announcements. The audio systems feed background music via an XM Music Commercial subscription. Additional capabilities of the systems include auxiliary inputs and wireless microphones. The wireless access points positioned around the coverage areas bridge from west to east to provide redundancy.

KLA has recently completed Cisco
network upgrades at 50 Ford sites including World Headquarters,
FMCC, Hermosillo, Mexico Assembly, Kentucky Truck Plant and
Oakville Assembly Plant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
KLA has 15 Network support personnel (CCNA/CCNP) permanently assigned to Ford in Southeast Michigan. Their scope includes network deployment and support at 74 buildings including two data centers.
Recently, Ford relied on KLA to assist in setting their global standard for wireless surveys, deployments and certification.
KLA is a National
Turnkey Service Provider (TSP) for Verizon Wireless. KLA
provides design, installation and commissioning of In-Building
and Outdoor Distributed Antenna Systems.
Recently, KLA was the lead installer for the Verizon – Ford Enhanced In-Building Wireless Coverage Project (EIBC) which included the site survey, design, installation and commissioning of over 90 million square feet in over 60 buildings.
KLA had recently completed 100 Distributive Antenna Systems (DAS) for Sprint at Ford so it was a natural fit for KLA to be involved with Verizon for their in building enhancement.
At the height of the project, KLA technicians were installing systems at 12 sites simultaneously in 4 States and Canada. Over 1 million feet of coax cable was installed and 1 million feet of fiber optic cable was utilized. The project was completed in just over 6 months with KLA completing installations in 9 States, Canada and Mexico.
Marathon Petroleum Corporation
KLA recently completed a robust Sumitomo FutureFLEX Air Blown Fiber installation at the Marathon Petroleum facility in Detroit, Michigan. Spanning several years and multiple projects, KLA upgraded the existing infrastructure and pulled new ABF tube cable across 6 complexes and 9 buildings across the facility. KLA adhered to Marathon's strict safety guidelines while installing the cable both underground and in conduit throughout the complexes. In addition to testing and re-certifying the existing ABF tube cable, KLA installed dozens of fiber junction boxes, pulled over 30,000 feet of new tube cable, and blew in over 150,000 feet of air blown fiber. By using Sumitomo LYNX Splice-On connectors, KLA was able to extend Marathon a 25 year Sumitomo warranty for the tube, fiber and connectors. Through a rigorous documentation process, KLA helped Marathon establish their expectations for test results going forward. KLA is also the trusted contractor for the termination and testing of all types of fiber installed across the Marathon facility.
Henry Ford Health System
the structured cabling system at the new Henry Ford Hospital,
West Bloomfield, Michigan campus.
The scope of work includes installation of 25 IDF's with 20,000' of backbone fiber cable, 350 WLAN access points and over 6,000 Cat-6 information outlets. This was a very demanding installation and took careful coordination with other trades a as well as maneuvering through a portion of the hospital that was in operation.
KLA technicians carefully executed the installation in the operating portion to ensure that no dust or debris from the installation could possibly compromise the health of the patients.
KLA worked closely with HFHS to design the system to meet their exacting needs.
Safe Auto Insurance
KLA completed the
infrastructure construction of a new 33 cabinet state-of-the-art
Data Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
The scope of work included installation of fiber and copper 10-Gigabit uplinks, structured wiring of 200 seat call center, installation of access control system and installation of fire alarm system, cctv system and Cisco wireless access points.
KLA also provides services at the Safe Auto Corporate Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
The scope of work for the headquarters included voice and data construction as well as installation of 22 cabinets. The technicians also completed fiber and copper 10-Gigabit uplinks, wiring of four floors with 10 gig data backbone, installation of Cisco wireless access points throughout the entire facility, basket tray support system and over 500,000 feet of cable.
KLA is also responsible for any and all moves, adds and changes that Safe Auto requires at both locations as well as their call center in South Carolina.
